Jeff Gordon is a very important person and role model in NASCAR racing. Jeff Gordon was born on August 14, 1974 in Vallejo, California. His parents are Jon and Carol Bigford.
Jeff went to school in California, but he moved to Indiana, he also went to school there. Jeff Gordon grew up in Pittsboro, Indiana, home of the Indy car racing. He thought he would be an Indy car driver like A.J. Foyt, his racing hero. When he was a little boy, he knew racing would be his destiny. When he was four, he raced in small races called Quarter Midgets.
Jeff Gordon was famous for winning four Winston Cups. He called his team The Rainbow Warriors. Ray Evernham (his crew chief) helped him succeed. Jeff Gordon married Brooke Sealey, but he got divorced and married Ingrid Vanderbosch and had a daughter last year named Ella Sofia.

He was the youngest race car driver on the track and Dale Ernhardt made fun of his age. He has inspired others to be like him. He is the best race car driver I know and he likes to have fun no matter what he is doing. The most shocking thing that ever happened to him is that his crew chief, Ray, left with his team to start his own. He had a rough season in 2000 with a new crew chief and team. His teammates on Hendricks Motorsports are: Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, and his new teammate, Dale Ernhardt JR, car number 88.

I decided to write about Jeff Gordon because he is my favorite race car driver. The most impressive thing about Jeff is that he won four Winston Cups at the youngest age in NASCAR history. How did he inspire me? He does well in races. I like the feeling of winning and speed too.
