Josh Groban is a star singer with an amazing voice. He had a debut as a singer when he was a child in the seventh grade, and wowed the judge in a variety show audition. Thus he started taking vocal lessons. Later, entered a musical theater school and achieved straight A’s. Eventually, producer and composer David Foster heard of Groban’s astounding voice, and booked him to sing at the inauguration of California governor Grey Davis in 1999. And a few weeks later, seventeen year-old Josh Groban was asked to take the place of opera star Andrea Bocelli in a rehearsal with Celine Dion, because Bocelli was unable to attend. His fame erupted.
From there, Groban’s career blossomed, and through much vocal training, he developed the voice of an angel, with the volume of thunder. He recorded multiple albums, and achieved amazing fame. But what astounded me most, was how he was able to maintain humility and credit his success to his vocal teacher and producer. He tries never to take the credit for himself. Being a well-rounded man, he is free of all tattoos, piercings, and such and has a proper and modest dress style. He has a great personality, and is very kind to everyone --which has also aided his fame.
Josh Groban has influenced me in such a way that I want my voice to develop and have the power and control of his, and to keep a career in music with all the humility he demonstrates. During all of the trials he has and still receives as a young singer, he has many times come through. So by following his example, I believe I can be a better follower of Christ through humility and purity. Josh’s figure should be an exemplary model as a well rounded person—educated, morally sound, physically pure, humble, and talented. And because of those qualities, I consider Josh Groban a true hero for me.
