Imagine excruciating pain flowing through your body until you were unconscious. Breathing in dirt and rubble, with your severe wounds producing blood, then being thrown across a hard, Afghanistan landscape, and not knowing if you're going to make it. Jason Hallett, a man who served, went through that exact experience, only five years ago, in Afghanistan, he showed perseverance. An amazing guy, Jason, who persevered through near death, and kept fighting to complete his duties as a soldier. Paying for his loyalty, Jason lost three of four limbs. Today he is living his life fully and couldn't be happier. But Jason's incident is a different story.
It was October 23rd, 2010. Jason and his team had just removed four bombs which shows bravery, and were already searching for more. Then, as Jason was leading his team up some stairs in an enemy building, a hidden bomb was placed on the stairs, and Jason got thrown across the room, buried underground, and his teammates immediately ran over to Jason and started to dig. Being unconscious underground, Jason had severe wounds. His teammates rushed him to a van, which carried him miles across the battlefield, to Balboa Medical center. His teammates were not able to back out of the fight, so they continued with their journey. Thankfully, the medical workers at the hospital were able to save Jason's life, only with a price. That Jason would have to live his whole life with only one arm, and no legs.
Marine Jason Hallett has many heroic qualities. he has most definitely shown us perseverance. Though another one of the many great characteristics of Jason is determination. After all of this, he is fully determined to live a full and happy life with only one arm. A man, Jason, who wants more than anything, to be treated as an equal. to be a regular person. Some of Jason's loves and hobbies are music, all sports, and spending time with his friends. Currently, he is studying finance at Colorado state University. Rachel, his lovely wife and him, are hoping to start a family in their near future. The home that Jason lives in is in Water Valley is fully paid by pure donations, and it is specially engineered to fit all the needs of Jason to make him as comfortable as possible. The donations were run by a company called Homes For Our Troops. "We are absolutely overjoyed to live in such an amazing neighborhood, and we are very happy to start a family in Windsor. We are very blessed to have such wonderful people donate to make this home possible. Thank you." Jason said this at the grand unveiling of his new home.
Courage is displayed by Jason to not let failure stop him from playing the game. Not to let the fear of failing again keep him from doing what he was meant to do, be who God made him to be, a great role model and hero for many. After Jason's incident, he was worried he would never be able to get back on his feet again. Emptiness was the feeling that he described, he felt empty. Fortunately, all of the loving people who have done great acts of kindness onto Jason, have progressed and filled him up to his brim. He is truly full of love. Before Rachel married Jason, they were just engaged. Anyway, the accident happened, he was not full of love, in fact, he felt alien, but Rachel put the first drop of love back into him and married him anyway. A 22 year old man, living with a wonderful wife, an adorable puppy, in an amazing house, in a great neighborhood, and he's living a full and happy life with so much support around him. The people who paid for his house and donated, have filled Jason up with love and care, and makes him feel like what he has done for this country is really appreciated, and that no matter how hard things get, he will always have people there to support him and care for him.
No matter how much Jason is hurting, how much he loses, how many times he gets ridiculed, no matter what, there will always be people there to stand by Jason. Life can be hard for someone like him, but Jason has pushed through it has fulfilled his position for this world, so many great talents and loves are in him, he does the impossible with one arm. Jason Hallett. is a true hero.
