James Marshall Hendrix

by Masten from Roxboro

Jimi Hendrix was a great musician. Jimi Hendrix practiced his guitar every spare minute while serving in the army. After Hendrix was released out of the army he launched his music career and it was a huge success. Jimi Hendrix has also influenced many of today's musicians, like me.

Jimi Hendrix was not just an awesome musician; he also did a lot of stuff for charity. In 1968 Jimi Hendrix sold one of his prized guitars and gave the money to charity. Jimi Hendrix also played many gigs for charity.

As a child Jimi Hendrix was in influenced by Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, and B.B. King. Jimi Hendrix used to act like he was playing a guitar but only with a broom while listening to Elvis Presley's song "hound dog". Jimi Hendrix played using a broom until he found an old one-string ukulele.

Hendrix seemed shy and gentle, and didn't consider himself a good singer, but one day he emerged as a soloist. Jimi Hendrix teased feedback and made sounds never heard by the instrument. Jimi Hendrix was left handed, but he used a right hand guitar because they didn't make left handed guitars back then. Jimi Hendrix normally played a fender stratocaster or a Gibson Les Paul.

Jimi Hendrix did many things in his shows to hype the crowd up like play the guitar with his teeth or even set his guitar on fire. Jimi Hendrix also would sometimes destroy his guitar at the end of his shows.
