The hero I chose was the one and only Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix was a man who took Rock ‘N Roll by the throat and impacted it, in a short amount of time. He was born on November, 27, 1942 in Seattle Washington. He was the son of Al Hendrix and Lucille Jeter. His father Al Hendrix was a man who did a number of jobs such as landscaping and many other jobs to try to make ends meet and also was a great jazz Dancer. Jimi also has an older brother named Leon. Hendrix's grandmother however helped raise Jimi and Leon part of their lives because their mother Lucille had an excessive drinking problem and they divorced. Through young Jimi Hendrix's childhood he missed his mom. At a young age Jimi desired to have a guitar. By the age of twelve Jimi gotten a guitar and taught himself how to play, Jimi was left handed.
Jimi Hendrix saw Elvis Presley at the age of 14. He was one of those kids who all he wanted and dreamed was to be a musician and all he knew was music. Jimi Hendrix dropped out of high school in 1959. He enlisted in the United States army. Many think he did it just because he wanted to he did it because he had gotten into trouble with the law and it was either go in the army for two years or go to jail. Hendrix chose the army. However he slacked while he was there, slept in and fell asleep during the day. Right as he got out of the army he jumped straight into a music career playing back up for bands.
In 1966 he meets Chase Chandler a former member of the successful rock group Animals who became his Manager. While Jimi Hendrix was getting his own music career going he was raising up the bar in Rock ‘N Roll Royalty. Member from the Who, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles Liked and admired Jimi Hendrix work. Jimi Hendrix got criticized that sometimes he looked like he was playing the guitar with no hands. In 1967 he released his First Single “Hey Joe,” along with other singles such as Purple Haze from his first album Are You Experienced. Hendrix became a huge hit. He continued being a hit after releasing his second album Axis: Bold as Love and after that he released his last album for being part of the Jimi Hendrix Experience Electric Ladyland.
Jimi Hendrix later performed at an all time Rock 'N Roll Paradise, Woodstock. He sang the Star Spangled Banner when he performed it. It was like the Rock 'N Roll went through Jimi Hendrix like a Rock 'N Roll hurricane took over his body. One flaw Jimi Hendrix ever made was At the One and Only Woodstock festival. He was singing the lyric's ‘Scuse me while I kiss this guy’, when the real lyrics are ‘Scuse me while I kiss the sky’ which is part of the song "Purple Haze." In this mistake Jimi Hendrix true humor came out and He looked up at the sky and embraced his lyrics.
Jimi Hendrix died on September 18, 1970. His cause of death was he took too many Sleeping pills and he choked on his own vomit. Although this Rock ‘N Roll Legend has know gone and died, his Spirit still lives on and everyday when you hear Rock ‘ N Roll musician on the radio you can know that they were most likely inspired by the one and only Rock ‘N Roll God Jimi Hendrix. He engraved his mark in the stone walls of Rock ‘ N Roll. Jimi Hendrix had many Life inspiring Quotes : Even Castles made of sand, fall into the sea, eventually, In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first, Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens, Music is a safe kind of high, Music is my religion, The time I burned my guitar it was like a sacrifice. You sacrifice the things you love. I love my guitar, to be with the others, you have to have your hair short and wear ties. So we're trying to make a third world happen, you know what I mean? This man is an inspiration and will live on forever.
