My hero's name is John van Hengel. He was born on February 21, 1923. He was born in Waupan, WI. He died at age 83. He died on October 5, 2005. He once was married, but got a divorce.

John van Hengel opened the first food bank in Phoenix, Arizona. He wanted to distribute unmarketable food to the starving, and then a national organization. There was a Second Harvest. He also wanted to spread the concept.

John van Hengel was a world changer. He basically fed people that were starving. After he died, they continued to do these food banks for people who had nothing to eat. That is why I think John van Hengel was a world changer.
