Jim Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi, on September 24, 1936. Jim tried out for a T.V. station with his first puppet Pierre the French rat which started a show called Sam and friends. Then that gave him an idea and that’s when the Muppets and Sesame Street where made.
Frank Oz was partners with Jim for 27 years. He said “Jim wasn’t perfect but I’ll tell you something… he was as close to how you’re supposed to behave toward other people as anyone I’ve ever known."
But in 1990 Henson died after catching pneumonia. His creations would touch the souls of everyone old and young.
But his creations are still around today like Kermit the frog, Miss Piggy, Animal, and Fozzie the bear. His movies and shows are a big hit today and might be here for a long time.
