Our definition of a hero is someone who impacts somebody else’s life for the better.
Our hero is Jerome Iginla. Jerome Iginla is a professional hockey player who is the captain of the Calgary Flames. There are three reasons that Jerome Iginla is our hero. He donates a lot of money, he was the first African American to reach the 100 point plateau and he is a good hockey player in the NHL.
The main reason we like Jerome Iginla is because of his charity work. Jerome Iginla is the highest donating player in the NHL. He has donated over $8,00,000 and for every goal he scores, he donated $2,000. He also goes back to his hometown every year and works with little kids. When Jerome Iginla retires he says he is going to donate over $250,000 to a Nigerian charity. He also says he’s going to build an arena in his hometown
Jarome Iginla was the first black American to score 100 points in the NHL. That inspired a lot of little kids who didn’t think that they could make the NHL because they were a different color of skin but anyone can. He also helps a lot of kids in the USA play hockey, even though they can’t afford to. He also made a lot of kids look up to him because they saw how good he could be so if he was good they could be good at other things too.
These are the reasons why we think that Jerome Iginola is a great person and he is our hero. We hope a lot more people are like him when they grow up because the world would benefit from it a lot. We hope after you read this you think he is a hero too.
