Before Jack Johnson was a musician, he was a surfer and a skater. Jack Johnson began surfing and skating at the age under 5. At age 17 he was the youngest person to make the surfing finals at the Pipeline Masters. One week later Jack Johnson stopped surfing after his accident. Both of his front teeth were knocked out. He needed almost 150 stitches. That's why I believe Jack Johnson should be a hero. He does a lot of amazing things. He inspires a lot of people.
Jack Johnson got inspired by listing to other musicians like The Beatles, Bob Marley, Sublime, and Neil Young, who influenced his song writing. But it wasn't until he graduated from high school. Johnson's song " Rodeo Clowns" was recorded for his 1999 album. The album became his first single. His four track demo was heard by Ben Harper's producer. He also played the rhythm guitar for the the party band Soil.
Jack Johnson does a lot of community service. He helped in the Kokua Hawaii foundation. Kokua means help in Hawaiian language. Jack Johnson started the charity with his wife in 2003. "It funds school gardens and field trips where kids can go out into nature." Jack Johnson recently joined effort to purchase a coastline from a Japanese land development company. It's an open space for the public.

Jack Jonson also does benefit shows. One of them is at Neil Young's annual bridge school. Which helps fund a program for children with physical impairments. Jack Johnson also does fundraisers for the Montessori School tuition assistance program.
I think Jack Johnson is a hero to me because i want to be just like him some day. I really love listening to his music because it makes me feel happy. He also helps lots of people by giving advice to people who want to be rock stars. I also like helping people and Jack Johnson also loves helping people.
