The danger of working with sharks actually repelled me at first. - Jeff Kurr

I have always been interested and fascinated by sharks. I got my parents to buy me any book I saw that had to do with sharks. I never missed a Shark Week. One year there was a show called "Air Jaws". I saw other shows with the main guy that was actually studying that was actually studying the sharks, So when I was looking for a career hero I looked for him, but then I came across Jeff Kurr and I found out that he was the one who video taped the show "Air Jaws" so I decided to chose him. What I like most about him is that he is not afraid of sharks like anyone else. That is the same way I feel about them.

I want to be a marine biologist and do video documentaries on sharks when I grow up. I want to do video documentaries to eliminate the fear everyone has for sharks and make them realize that they aren't mindless killing animals. I also want to stop people from hunting and killing sharks. The salary of a marine biologist is between 45, 000, and 50,000.

Jeff Kurr first got involved with sharks 18 years go and started doing Shark Week in 1991. At first he was scared of working with sharks because of the movie Jaws. But as he worked with them he became less fearful of them and is now fascinated by them.

20 years ago people did not dive with sharks. They were not sure how the sharks would react to humans. Jeff Kurr was one of the first people to dive with them. He saw it as a pioneering opportunity. He contributes to society through his video documentaries by telling people about how sharks are not mindless killing machines and they won’t come and attack you, and how they are actually really intelligent.

I want to be just like Jeff Kurr. I want to graduate from San Diego University just like he did. I want to do video documentaries on sharks and show people how sharks are not mindless killing machines.
