"Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope that one day you'll join us and the world will be one." This was a quote by John Lennon who was my chosen hero.
Lennon grew up a little different then you would expect. John was born October 9, 1940. He lived with his aunt because his parents got divorced. When Lennon grew up, he got married twice. His latest wife was Yoko Ono who was featured in some of the Beatles's songs and some of just John Lennon's songs. He had two children: Julian and Sean Lennon. On December 8, 1980, at age 40, he was shot on his way back to his recording studio from an autograph signing.
He was told that he was going to be removed due to a 1968 marijuana conviction. Lennon never really believed that this was the reason that he was being kicked out. He actually believed that he was being removed because of his activism against the Vietnam War. Lennon's theory was later proved correct by documents that were soon found.
John Lennon is most famous for his talents in the arts. Lennon performed in the Beatles from 1957-1975 until he quit to be on his own. He played the harmonica, piano, and was a vocalist. But Lennon not only performed; he also wrote many classic songs with another member of the Beatles, Paul McCartney.
Lennon is important to me because of all his heroic virtues. And as Lennon once said, Peace is something you make, something you do, something you are, and something you give away
