On October 9th, 1940, a boy was born. This boy was to become John Lennon, a famous musician, singer, songwriter, and artist. Lennon grew up at the time of World War II. His father Fred Lennon went to war aboard a warship. John Lennon ended up spending most of his time with his Aunt and Uncle. John did not see his father until a year after the war ended. His mother Julia died in a car accident in 1958. He wasn’t doing very well in school but he was good at art so he was sent to College, where he met Cynthia Powell who later became his wife.

In 1961, John created the Beatles, a band that included three other members. In 1962, John Lennon married Cynthia Powell and they had a son named Julian. In 1966, John divorced Cynthia and married Yoko Ono who was also an artist. Later, in 1967, The Beatles became very famous and released many great songs. Early in the 1970’s The Beatles broke up because Paul McCartney decided to leave.

On October 9th, 1975, John and Yoko had a son named Sean Lennon, who is a musician today. Only five years after, on December 8th, 1980, John Lennon was shot in the back four times by Mark David Chapman.

Even though John is no longer alive, he will still be remembered because of his music and talent.
