John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 9. John Lennon is famous because he was a very talented musician and in 1964 to 1985 he and the Beatles sold around 75 million records and hits. Now I mentioned the Beatles, the Beatles were one of the best selling bands and John Lennon was in that band! Those are the reasons he was famous and still is today!

John Lennon was very talented in music. He was actually taking art in university and then quit the next year and formed the Beatles. But in university he met a girl named Cynthia Powell. Her and Lennon became close and soon after they were married. Her name was changed to Cynthia Lennon. The Beatles started off by just playing in their school, clubs and bars. Then they became more famous and soon had tons of hits and records. When the Beatles broke up, John Lennon continued to write music and continued to make hits and records. In that time Cynthia and John had a baby boy named John Charles Julian. He was born on April 8th 1963.

On November 9, John Lennon met Yoko Ono, a Japanese artist. In 1968 John Lennon and Cynthia were divorced. A year later (1969) John Lennon and Yoko Ono were married on March 20. In 1970 Paul McCartney announced he was leaving the Beatles. John Lennon and Yoko Ono had a child which was named Sean Taro Ono Lennon. John Lennon and Yoko Ono were separated after four years of marriage and John heads off to Los Angles. John moves back to New York and reunites with Yoko Ono. In 1980 Lennon was shot to death on a New York city street.

Even after John Lennon died we still today listen to his music and even after the Beatles broke up he made tons of hits and records alone and with Yoko Ono and others. John Lennon should still be remembered as a caring, kind, amazing man!
