My hero is a hard working coach who it is impossible not to listen to and respect. He is one of the greatest coaches I have had in my entire life and he has taught me many things about the sport of lacrosse. I first became aware of my personal career hero this summer when I started playing lacrosse for our summer Capo team the Hornets. The reason why JC became my hero is he is a very good coach who loves the game of lacrosse and he taught us how to play a great game of lacrosse. He became my hero because he is a beast of a coach. I made him my hero because he tries his hardest to help the community. He is smart, he works hard and is nice to everybody. I would like to pursue a similar career and become a lacrosse coach for any grade or age.
In the career of being a coach you have to be good with people, know the game, have a very free schedule so you can do things like watch film on the other teams. To be a coach you have to play the sport that you are coaching and to go to higher levels you have to have had to go to college. There is an okay salary and a good future outlook for coaching lacrosse because there are not a lot of coaches in this area who have played lacrosse before. A few careers similar to being a coach are being a physical therapist and a sports trainer. A few recent developments in coaching are that coaches are getting angry because they believe they are underpaid for what they do and think that they should be paid for all the extra hours they spend watching film and planning for games.
As a kid JC played lacrosse and football at Capo and always hoped that he would be a lacrosse coach. He was also always a leader on and off the field and tried to help the people who were struggling. He was a captain of the Capo lacrosse team for two years and was recruited to Southwestern University to play lacrosse. Then he dropped out of Southwestern and went to Saddleback College to become a sports announcer for his favorite team, the Ducks. The career goal that JC has completed was being a coach at Capo and doing what he loves while he is attending college. He is playing lacrosse for various club teams and attending college as he coaches the Capo lacrosse team.
He teaches us how to play lacrosse better and how to be better people in general. In the meantime he goes to every Ducks game and cheers his butt off. Also he has worked at a place called Loves and Fishes where we teach unprivileged children how to play lacrosse. "He is a great coach who loves the game and enjoys being with us as the players. Also with him being so young he fits in with us very well."(Colby Fojas).
In high school I would like to take classes to get myself a 4.0 and be the best that I can be in my four years and not try to live up to anyone's standards but my own. I will play lacrosse and maybe football through my four years. I want to join the ping pong club at Capo and be a ping pong wizard. My goals for college are to play lacrosse and get a degree in homeland security. By my hero's example I would like to become a great coach maybe at or even at a college somewhere that I can have fun with the sport I love.
