Many people look up to professional athletes, but my hero is John Pease, my grandpa. There are so many words that I could use to describe him, but the trait he shows the most is bravery. Some other traits of his are supportive and stubborn.

One word that everyone uses to describe my grandpa is supportive. He has done many things in his life so he knows how good it feels to have support. Since he lives near me in Pennsylvania, he is able to come to at least one of my CYO games per season. I am always very excited to be cheered on by him.

Another word that would describe him perfectly is brave. After, he received arm surgery, he found out that it was more serious than he had expected. He would have to keep his arm immobilized for at least four weeks. Just as his arm was starting to heal, he realized that he had no feeling in his other hand. His doctor said, "If you don't get surgery on your arm with no feeling, the nerves will die." The only problem that he was faced with now was that he would then have to remain immobile because of the first surgery. Many people were very worried about him, but my grandpa said, "It is best for everyone to remain calm.

My grandpa may be supportive and brave, but he is also stubborn. Because he has been wearing a splint lately, he has not been allowed to drive or lift heavy objects. He has been hoping that he would be able to go back to work. That hope has remained in his head because my grandma is unable to drive him forty-five minutes away and pick him up everyday. He may have lifted things once or twice, but he never injured himself. His stubbornness has reflected off of him throughout the past few months.

As you can see, my grandpa has done a lot of brave, supportive, and stubborn things in his life. He has changed my life and many others as well. He has shown me how to support peoples' goals, and has helped me to be brave enough to take on my own goals. Even though he isn't famous he is and always will be my hero.
