My Hero is my dad. His name is John Richard Proppe. He was born in Calgary at Calgary General Hospital. He grow up Calgary and is still living here. His mother's name is Martha Proppe. She grow up in Germany and immigrated to Calgary for a better life. She had many jobs. She worked in the beet fields and opened a coffee shop with her husband and she had many more jobs. His father, Irvin Proppe, grew up in Manitoba and came to Calgary and was a farmer. John had one brother named Jerry and one sister named Carolyn. The subject in school that interested him in school was P.E. and work shop. One special thing that happened growing up is that he was athletic and won many medals and broke records. He wanted to be a person who buys houses and fixes them up and made it better and that is his job now. His special dream or ambition was to have a family home and to travel.

My dad is remarkable to me because he teaches everything and can fix and build almost everything. My hero is remarkable to me because he is very patient and always has a positive attitude. The nine qualities include,
#1 hard worker - my dad is the hardest worker there is, he never sits still and he works hard building on renovating houses and he knows how to do it all, he also has interesting projects on the go.
#2 smart - my dad is smart because he's good at math, he fixes our cars and teaches me what I need to know.
#3 active - my hero is always active doing something, he never sits around, he likes to horseback ride, go camping, sports, bike riding, playing cards and so much more.
#4 Joyful - my hero is always joyful, he is always happy and smiling. He has a life now attitude.
#5 Fun - my hero can find fun anywhere any time, he always gets us involved in activities no matter what the weather is. He likes me to be active because it's healthy and fun.
#6 Trusted - my hero is very trustworthy because he is dependable and when he says something he keeps his promise.
#7 Caring - my dad is caring. He always thinks about me and makes sure I have a good life.
#8 Father - he is a good father because he is everything a dad should be. I think my hero, my dad, was in influenced the most by having a wonderful mother who taught him many good qualities.
All qualities my dad has are important and shaped who he is today.

My hero says he has made mistakes and bad decisions, but this is normal for everybody. He says this is how we learn and grow. Lessons anybody can learn from my hero are to never give up and always try, treat others how you would like to be treated and always be kind and caring. No, I don't think you can or should judge anybody, especially by their enemies because you can't please everyone and sometimes people are unkind.

Things that my hero likes to do

A hero to me is someone who you look up to, and who helps other people. Yes to me my dad is my hero, because he helps me and others. A hero is different from someone who is just known well, because just because they are well known doesn`t mean they did something good. Terry Fox is a hero to my dad and his mom. Yes, my hero is still alive, he is continuing to work hard and raise his family. Yes, my hero has many family members alive. I choose my dad as my hero, because he has all the qualities you need to be a good person. I have learned so much from my hero, good moral skills, how to treat others and to never give up.
