Johnny Rabb

Johnny Rabb has to be the hero of all heroes when it comes to drummers. Even though he does not have a band to call his own, he is often asked to play backup or just to play in a band for a while. Rabb also hold the record for the World's Fastest Drummer, where he executed 1,071 consecutive drum strokes in under one minute.

When Johnny was three years old his parents decided to give him a drum set to help kill off some of his hyper attitude and so he would have a hobby. Who knew that giving something to a three year old would turn out being that person's career later on in life, talk about you can never start too early. He worked himself up as a drummer by practicing by himself and in school. Eventually working up to his own small little band he decided that he wanted to be a solo recorder because he was able to make a whole band at the tap of his foot.

Johnny's music albums have been all done by himself, without the help of a guitar or bass he had a system where he could create a whole band just by himself at the tap of his foot. Because Johnny was a one man band it was quite easy for him to speed up and improve his drumming skills because no one else could hold him back because he made the orders. At first Johnny made the world record for the fastest drummer in the world when he played 1,026 single drum beats in the time of one minute. That might not seem pretty fast because you see drummers play really fast all the time but the truth is; most of the time drummers are either double hitting where the stick hits the drum twice before the drummer picks the stick back up, or they just roll the stick on the drum which give off a super fast speed but is not what Johnny Rabb did. Johnny was able to hit the drum once with the stick bring it back up bring down the other stick hit it and bring it up only hitting the drum one stick at a time at the pace of seventeen hits in just one second, and try not to tell me that isn’t fast.

Johnny Rabb has inspired me as a drummer to always try and become better than I came be. I also am a drummer which I never thought was too good but seeing all what you can do as even a solo drummer he pushed me to stay drumming and to keep getting better and I look up to him as a role model of drummers.

I met Johnny Rabb I believe three years ago and he came to the store Eckroth where my mother works and I got to meet him first hand. I still have a pair of drum sticks of his which I keep safe because I know that one day I could sell those for pretty good price if I wanted to. I think I mainly look up to him because he does not own a band, yet everyone who needs a backup or a drummer for a song they will turn to him and I think that is pretty cool.

You don't always need a stick to play drums! (DrummerWold, only place to look him up unless you know him)

Even though Johnny Rabb has never done anything heroic or saved a person's life I will always consider him as one of my favorite drummers and a "hero" to drummers for his great inspirational way that he tends to show. I don’t think if I ever heard of Johnny Rabb I would have turned out like the rest of my old drumming class where they dropped out because they could not find passion in it like I did once I met Johnny Rabb face to face.
