Jeffree Star

by Cheyenne from Roxboro

My hero is named Jeffree Star. His real name is Jeffery Steininger. Jeffree was born near L.A., California. Currently, he lives in Orange County, California. Today, at the age of 16, he is a make up artist, American model, fashion designer, and a singer. He is really important in my life.

One reason he is my hero because he is being himself. Jeffree Star is not a follower, but a leader. Nobody wants someone who is fake to look up to. He doesn't care whatever anyone else thinks about him. If everyone in the world was the same, then the world will be a sad place.

Jeffree Star discovered he was a homosexual in his childhood. His father died when he was young, and his mom was a model. By the time he was in middle school, his obsessive compulsive disorder led him to experiment with his mothers make up. He convinced his mom to let him wear the make up to school.

Star took outrageous photographs of himself, and people started sending him expensive cameras to take more pictures. By November 17, 2006, Jeffree Star was starring on America's Top Model with other outstanding contestants. On March 16, 2007, Star was on Jared Gold's, a fashion designer, runway show, with unusual clothing. Jeffree appeared on Good Charlotte's song "The River".

Jeffree's music career was as a pop/electronica vocalist. The drummer from Peaches encouraged him to make his own music. His first track was called "Straight Boys". He toured with electro musicians. In Aiden's music video, "One Love", Jeffree was also in that.

Jeffree Star is definitely a hero to me in my eyes. He has taught me to be myself, and not to care what everyone else thinks about me. And if you want to be something, never give up on it, and work until you get it.
