John Stocker

My hero is my papa Pastor John Stocker. He was born in 1944 and is currently living with his wife Linda Stocker in Greeley, Colorado.

When he was 9 years old, something amazing happened to him. He had said his prayers and gotten into bed and fallen asleep, when after a while he was completely awake and he saw angels at the foot of his bed singing praises to God. Then, the room got really bright even though it was night and then, standing beside his bed, was Jesus. Jesus said to him, " I will never leave you or forsake you and that I love  you." Then Jesus touched his forehead and said, "You have seen the Holy Spirit." Then everything vanished. Right after Jesus came and talked to him he decided that he wanted to be a pastor because it was really on his heart and it was the only thing that he wanted to do. From then on, every Sunday after he went to church, he would come home, line up his cat and dog and tell them to sit and then he would preach to them since they were the only one's who would listen to him. The most important things in his life were raising his children, spending time with his grandchildren, and starting Resurrection Christian School. He is retired now but he was a pastor for nearly 50 years. He has gone to Israel 25 times and this year will be his 26th time. He was a Pastor at Resurrection Fellowship for 32 years. When he first started Resurrection Fellowship there were only 50 people going to the church at the time. But, by the time he retired here were 3000 people going to the church. He built Resurrection Fellowship in 1997. Pastor John built three other buildings apart from Resurrection Christian School.. The total cost added up to $12 million and every building was built debt free.  

   My Papa is important to me not only because he's my papa but because the things that he has done have impacted my life big time. He is such an amazing person and God has shown Himself to me through him. I love my papa very much and I'm very lucky that God has put him in my life. I know that he is a very religious man who loves his family and Christ. One thing that he has shown that applies with a fruit of the spirit is that he has shown love. He loved the church and being a pastor. He loves his family and God. My papa is so important to me and I am glad that he shows love.
