BOOM! CRASH! As the Twin Towers are collapsing, a figure runs into the World Trade Center. People are fleeing out while ex-Marine Jason Thomas is sprinting in. Jason Thomas is definitely a modest hero. He saved two officers, he put his life at risk, and he didn't tell anyone about it. Jason Thomas didn't hesitate at all when he went in to search for survivors.

To start off, Mr. Thomas saved two officers. First, he pulled them out of a the debris and a mountain of steel and scraps. He didn't give up on them. The officers were burned and crushed, yet that didn't affect his ethic to help them. Jason Thomas didn't leave until Officer Will and his partner were out of the building. He and his friend, who was next to Jason for the whole time.

Jason put his life at risk. When he went in, he knew there was a huge chance at death. He even says that it was his duty to save them. Jason also put his family at risk. If he died, he would leave his wife and five children unattended. Finally, he stayed in the building until the officers were out, which put his life at a bigger risk. He stepped up to the plate with the risk in mind.

Finally, Jason was humble. He didn't tell the news about what happened at all. He saved two lives! He didn't take any credit. Jason also never told his wife about what he did. He kept a secret even from his most trusted companion. Last but not least, he kept everything a secret until a movie came out about the crash. He let out word since the movie was a bit off.

Jason Thomas, a true savior, saved two officers, risked his life, and didn't leave until they were out. His bravery and instincts saved men and told a story. That is why I chose Jason Thomas as my unsung hero.
