Dr. Jeff Young is a veterinarian that lives and works in Denver, Colorado. He created the Planned Pethood Plus (PPP) clinic, in 1990 to serve those who can't afford normal veterinary costs. Dr. Jeff Young is an inspiration because he is an outgoing leader, who spreads the veterinary medicine to the world, and is an helpful man to many.
Dr. Jeff was inspired to be a veterinarian at a young age when his childhood dog was hit by a car when he was 8, and it died in his arms as he tried to save it. He knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said in an interview, "I remember loving summer because I stayed with my dad and his relatives at a dairy farm. We churned our own butter and plowed our own fields. Animals and nature were everywhere! Pigs, dogs, cows, apple orchards, strawberry patches, that's where and when my interest developed. I've always wanted to be a vet" (Miller,Gerri. Dr. Jeff cares for Colorado's unrserved critters). After wanting to be a vet for a long time, he moved to Colorado to go to Colorado State University.
During high school, Dr. Jeff moved around every three years due to his dad being in the military. He claimed to be a "military brat" and said that the experience was really great. When he graduated high school, he moved to Colorado to attend Colorado State University for veterinary medicine. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1989, and began working in a mobile clinic in Denver, CO. After 2 years of working in the mobile clinic, he received a call from the AAF offering him a job with an actual clinic.
The AAF ,or the Animal Assistance Association Foundation, called Dr. Jeff asking him if he wanted the opportunity to run a clinic in downtown Denver. The only expense he had to pay was a $5,000 deposit. He never intended on running the clinic for 25+ years, but he claimed he wouldn't change it if he could. Dr. Jeff Young has run the clinic in Denver for 25+ years and offers a more efficient vet cost to the locals. He also has a mobile clinic that he takes out 1-2 days a week to people's houses, mostly in the Rocky's. Since he has owned the clinic, he has gained more than 10,000 clients and performed more than 160,000 spaying/neutering surgeries ("Meet Dr. Jeff Young." Animal Planet. animalplanet.com)
Dr. Jeff Young is an inspiration because he is an outgoing leader, who spreads veterinary medicine around the world, and is in general a helpful man. He has helped many people over his career of over 25 years and plans on helping for many more. I believe that Dr. Jeff Young is a likable 'hero', because he really connects with people and knows how to help people in many different ways. Whether it is veterinary medicine, overall personality, or just understanding many different types of people. Dr. Jeff Young will continue to help, inspire, and save, people and animals for as long as he can.I am Dr. Jeff Young.
