Jian-Zhen

Jian-Zhen, a pure little girl who comes from Yilan, a simple countryside in Taiwan. Living in such a bright and beautiful surroundings, Jian-Zhen had a memorable childhood filled with so many experiences. The warmness and friendliness of the people in her hometown also became her plentiful energy of writing.

However, a deadly car accident resulting in her father's death changed her life ever after. Jian-Zhen was forced to be mature to support the family when facing her father's death. At this time, she started to think the direction in her life and determined to attend the senior high school in Taipei to receive better education and surroundings to grow up.

Jian-Zhen has started writing since she was in high school. Moreover, she showed her remarkable literary talent and received awards at college. After leaving college, she went to Fo Guang Shan in Kaohsiung to explain the meaning of the sutras for a few years and realized the philosophy on life from a lot of Buddhist scriptures. This experience changed her outlook on life and influenced her later writings. She also used to edit magazines and be an editor in chief in a publisher. Furthermore, she established a publishing house with her friends. We could tell by these things she has done that she really loves literature and persists it.

Jian-Zhen is an important prose writer in literary circles in Taiwan. Each of her book is a search of life issue. There are different feelings in her several life periods in each her book. Her writings influence greatly our viewpoints of life. Her writings are not only famous works but also vital force which guides us. Her enthusiasm and persistence of literature are admired by us.
