James Stewart was born, December 21, 1985. He went for his first ride with his dad when he was only 2 days old. James started racing at age 4. He became sponsored at age 7. When he was 8 he became a fan of Jeff "Chicken" Matiasevich. James started calling himself "baby Chicken", over time evolving into "Bubba".
"The Stewarts lived in a motor home and Bubba and his younger brother, Malcolm, were home-schooled." The other kids often picked on them, now they are the ones begging to hang at Bubba's home in Haines City, Florida, where he has an outdoor motocross track, trampoline, air hockey and pool table.
Bubba started to get "big" in 2002 because of his blazing speed and massive air, which was unknown for his age, he became 2002 rookie of the year. He started to make big bucks in endorsements. He was the first African-American to dominate the sport of motocross, becoming the inspiration for other African-American kids to enter the sport and also led Teen People to name him one of "20 Teens Who Will Change the World" in its April 2003 issue.
James "Bubba" Stewart wears number 259. It's in honor of his hero, Tony Haynes, who broke his neck in a motocross race in 1993 and was left paralyzed from the waist down. His favorite football team is the Green Bay Packers
Bubba has taught me that you don't need money or a good life to succeed. All you need is to be yourself and work for what you want; to make your line not pick one that someone made for you.
