Josh Hamilton is a tremendous baseball player. He hit a record of over 25 homers in the homerun derby in 08' and he was in the race for the American League MVP and hit just about double in every category of his stats from last year.
Josh Hamilton had a secret he'd been hiding a long time. On July 5, 2007 Josh Hamilton couldn't hold his secret for much longer so he told the press privately that he'd been dealing with a drug problem for about 2 years now.
In the 07' offseason Josh has decided that crack hasn't really done anything good in his life but make him feel a little different so he prayed to god he would quit and he went to church. It was hard for him to quit cause he was so addicted to it and when you're addicted to something it is hard to quit but he had a lot of faith in himself that he could quit.
Now Josh is at the batting cages in spring training worrying about his baseball career and not worrying about when he's going to get his drugs. His wife (Katie) and his 2 kids (Julia, Sierra) are having a wonderful life in Raleigh, North Carolina.
I have chosen Josh Hamilton as my hero because he is a good baseball player and not only that but that story is just saying there is always a screw-up in your life or like you have only a couple chances in your life so don't mess it up. Josh has changed my life because when I heard about his life story, I took life a little more seriously. There have been some bad decisions mixed in there but I've been a little bit more serious and I think before I act once in a while. Josh Hamilton made a huge impact on my life and he is my hero.
