Congrats (www.nytimes.com) |
In honor of Jackie Robinson, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I choose Jackie Robinson because he’s my favorite player. I also choose Jackie Robinson because he was the first African American to player for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He also was the first African American to go into the hall of fame.
Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Jack Rooosevelt Robinson was born in Cairo, Georgia on January 31, 1919. Jackie Robinson was the youngest of five children Born to Jerry Robinson and Mallie(Mcgriff) Robinson. His younger life was wild he joined a street gang that was well known for shoplifting and vandalism. After Jackie got out of college he married the girl of his dreams, Rachel Insum whom he met at UCLA. They had three children David, Sharon, and Jackie Jr.

The foundation of heroism is education. Jackie went to Cleveland Elementary School and continued his studies at Pasadena Junior High School. He went to High school at John Muir Technical High School. Lastly, he went to college at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles). As you can see he went to many different schools.
Hard work contributes to heroism. Jackie Robinson was most famous for being the first African American to player Major League baseball in the modern era. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Before he played for the Dodgers he played for the UCLA Bruins. Jackie was very involved in sports in College.
Jackie Robinson is important to mankind and changed the world. I did my project on Jackie Robinson he was the first African American to play in the Major Leagues in the modern era. He did have a good education and was good at sports. Jackie Robinson is a very important person in the history of baseball.
