Hero of the holocaust (Internet and Resplendent Victory)

Fr. Jacques was a carmelite father during the Vichy era of Nazi occupation in France and hid Jewish boys in his Catholic school at great risk. He was caught and deported to Mauthausen. His life is given space in the Film by Louis Malle, Aur Revois Les Enfants, where the filmmaker finally pays tribute to his headmaster.

Extra Info

Sally Rogow's article on Catholic heroes of the Holocaust was memorable.

I am not Catholic but, for me, Lucien Bunel aka Fr Jacques will never be forgotten and the link will provide much information on that era of true heroes. May they be among the blessed.
