A Hero doesn’t have to save lives or stop bank robbers. A Hero is someone you look up to, someone you want to be like when your older, someone who really doesn’t have to do anything to you, to make them your hero. Some may help people in ways that make them feel good about themselves, or maybe makes somebody laugh when they're feeling down. A hero can be found anywhere, in your school, or in your city or town. I found mine in my family. And he didn’t stop bank robbers or fight off evil villains, yet in a way he has saved lives........
My uncle, Jeff Jupp was a Pastor and a Missionary. He built churches and started bible colleges, not only in North America but in other countries as well. Uncle Jeff was the 4th of six children. From the age of 16, he knew that he wanted be a Pastor and a Missionary. He loved people, he could never say no to someone in need. He on many occasions gave his last five dollars to someone in the street, not knowing how he was going to feed his own family, and he would come home to find groceries on his doorstep. He put all his trust in God and never doubted God.
My uncle Jeff, started 3 churches in inner city Detroit, as well as Miami Florida, and ended up in Prosser Washington and started a church called Friendship Baptist church, where he spoke the word of God. He started a bible college in Cuba, where he was thrown in jail for about a week before the US government got him out. Cuba put him in jail for smuggling bibles, food, and medical supplies into the country. My uncle tried help everyone he could and everyone he couldn't.
My uncle Jeff's favorite saying was "I'm bullet proof till God calls me home." In the first week of June 2005, he was leaving to Cambodia to start a bible college, but on April 19 2005 he was headed back home for a short rest after being on the road for a year raising support for their trip. He was pulling a trailer behind him and a speeding truck went by and he lost control of the vehicle and flipped it. My uncle and my cousin were rushed to the hospital. They both died after surgery. And my uncle's favorite saying, "I'm bullet proof till God calls me home." I guess he was right. My uncle helped so many people, that’s why he’s my hero.....
