My Hero Dad

This essay is about a man with courage, determination, honesty, confidence, and hope. No, he’s not George Washington Christopher Columbus. He’s a regular guy, but he’s my hero, my dad.

Courage is something my dad has a lot of. This one time, he had a gun pointed in his face, and all he said was “I dare you.” Imagine having a gun pointed right in your face; I was scared when I heard that. If that guy had pulled the trigger, I wouldn’t be here today.

My dad has confidence in himself, me, my mom, and my sister. When I was running the ball for my football team, my dad said, “Cody go out there and give it you’re all every down, no matter what.” So I ended up scoring three times that day … until I broke my leg.

Determination is something my dad has. Like one time me and my dad were working out and he thought he was done, but then he said he wasn’t done till he got to his goal of two-hundred push ups and he actually ended up doing two-hundred and fifty.

My dad has honesty. If you do something wrong my dad will tell you, if you like it or not, even if you are the president. He even said to my sister and me “I will always be there for you and your sister no matter what, but you can’t make the situation worse than it already is.

When my grandmother died my dad had to try to keep everyone together but some people didn’t listen but the kids in the family stuck together and the night it happened me and my cousin thought about what my dad said was true. Sure she lived a hard life but now she is in a way better place - she’s in heaven.

When I get older now I know all I have to do is remember when I get older the man who helped me from when I was a little kid until when the time I’m probably out of college. So when I’m playing for the New England Patriots and a hall of fame player, I’ll remember that my hero was always my DAD!

My Dad’s Day

I SMELL HIS COLOGNE
I SEE THE GLARE OF HIS GLASSES
I HEAR HIS VOICE
HIS MUSCLES PUMPED
HUGE HANDS GIVING ME A HIGH FIVE AND A GOOD MORNING HUG
WAVING AS HE LEAVES FOR ANOTHER 10 HOUR WORK DAY
THAT IS MY DAD’S DAY.
