Jiro

by Allison from Laguna Beach

My hero is my dog, Jiro. Jiro is a Japanese Akita at five years old. He has pointed ears, red fur, and a curled up tail. His eye color is light brown and he is very cute!

Jiro is my hero because he protects my family and I. Whenever somebody is at the door, he barks to warn us and to let us know. If we let the person in Jiro sometimes recognizes him or her and jumps up to lick them in the face or gets to meet someone new. He makes sure we’re protected from other dogs. When a dog comes up, Jiro will bark and lay down like he is going to pounce. It makes me feel safe and protected from other dogs. When I’m going to school he makes sure I get on the bus and one time he even tried to go on the bus with my brother and I! Jiro gets concerned though, whenever somebody gets hurt. I feel protected when Jiro is near.

Jiro is my hero because I just love him and he makes me feel happy! He is the greatest dog I ever had. Sometimes when I’m lonely, I would play with him and that would make me feel better. He is so cute, playful, and funny. Jiro’s playfulness makes me feel good when I’m hurt or sad. Jiro also makes a good pillow. Sometimes when he’s lying down, I rest my head on his stomach or just lay there and he doesn’t mind. Jiro is like no other dog. He thinks he’s a lap dog although he is very big. Sometimes Jiro will jump on your bed and lick your face.

Jiro also is my hero because he is very kind to our family. When you are crying he comes over and licks your tears away. He is almost always happy because he barks and wags his tail a lot. He is always excited when we get home from school, or some special occasion. Jiro always wants to be near us which shows his care and compassion toward us. He is very kind to us and is the nicest dog you could ever have.

All in all Jiro is my hero because he protects us, I love him, and he is kind. Jiro makes me feel good, protected, and happy! Jiro is my hero!
