My hero is Michael Jordan because he tried very hard to reach his goal and ended up succeeeding and becoming the "greatest player of all time". He is determined, kind, caring, charming, and has good looks. He is important to me because he has influenced me to never give up on my dream, no matter what happens.

Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, and currently lives in Highland, Illinois. He is a retired pro basketball player in the U.S. He joined NBA’s Chicago Bulls after playing in the University of North Carolina. He had an amazing leaping ability and could dunk from the free-throw line. He won various awards, such as MVP of the year and the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award.

On October 6, 1993, Michael Jordan retired after his father was murdered at a highway rest area. Despite this, he still continued his sporting career---in baseball! Jordan joined a minor league baseball team called the Chicago White Sox.

Michael Jordan returned to the NBA on March 18, 1995 after overcoming his father’s death, and led the Bulls to another championship. Michael Jordan trained hard and aggressively to reach his goal of being a great basketball player. He had to overcome many obstacles, such as his father’s death, to accomplish that goal. This is why he is my hero.
