Imagine you are in Bible times. Would you choose to follow God or would you think he is crazy? This story will discuss about Joseph and how God led him through and how he became a ruler in Egypt. Joseph had to make choices on his own and trust in God to lead him on right path.
To begin with, Joseph had to trust God even in the toughest situations, like when his father Jacob knew he was a leader and gave him a wonderful colorful coat that represented leadership. But his 10 brothers did not like his leadership and they got jealous and threw him in a well to be sold as a slave for twenty pieces of silver.
He was eventually sold to Potiphar, one of pharaoh's workers. But something was different about him. He obeyed right away for whatever they told him to do. Pharaoh noticed this obedience and made him second in control over Egypt and gave him complete control over the food. Food was important because when famine struck, other countries would trade items for food.
Later a famine came and the other countries did not have food so they all came rolling into Egypt. They used some for slaves and some they sold food too. Joseph's brothers came, wanting to get some food, and Joseph recognized them but they did not recognize him so he wanted to test them. He remembered what they did to him but he realized that it was God who sent him here. God used them to bless Joseph for being obedient to God and make the best of any situation, including being a slave.
They were asking for food and Joseph gave them food, in with some gold, to take with them. They went home and came back a couple days later returning the gold. He played them and said that they stole the gold and commanded the guards to arrest them. They pleaded not to and that they don't know how the gold got there. Finally Joseph told them, "Don't you see? I'm your brother!" They all froze with fear, knowing what they did to him. He said it was God who sent me here. Because of God and Joseph's obedience he was significantly blessed. He sets a good example to make the best of a bad situation and that you HAVE to TRUST God, no matter what.
