A cartoon version of Julie (www1.istockphoto.com) |
Juliana was born March 14, 2002 in Aurora, Colorado. She was born in our living room and is my youngest sibling. She is 5 years old and was born with a heart tumor. Julie (her nickname) is very athletic. She does gymnastics, practices baseball with my brother, and loves to kick my soccer ball. She is an awesome sister. She has courage, faith, hope, and perseverance.
My hero is my sister Julie. She is one of my best friends and always brightens my day. She lives in her birth town and is still living in the home of where she was born.
She makes a difference in my life by being my sister. We watch each other’s backs when our brother picks on us. We play outside together and I help her sharpen her gymnastics skills. When I’m sad I know I can count on her to cheer me up. She is a hero to me.
She is a “hero within” and a “survivor hero” which is related to T.A. Barron’s book A Hero’s Trail. She is a “hero within” because she has the qualities to make someone smile and appreciate them for all time. She is a “survivor hero” for living with a heart tumor.
My hero, Julie, is a special person to me and I love her dearly. She has the qualities of my kind of hero. An athletic, smart, helpful, brave, person with those qualities is a hero to me. A person can do something small to make a huge difference. She is a true hero to me.
