This is my awesome hero.... (Mrs. Christensen)

Mrs. Christensen is my hero because she is a very good teacher and has a very very creative brain. She is a good tech teacher. She comes into my classroom about every week and teaches us about a lot of things. She has a great sense of humor!!! I love the way that she talks and teaches us it’s a very creative way.

One of the things that she has taught us about is Vuvox. Vuvox is like a slideshow but, it’s more like a huge line of pictures and words that move continuously. You can also add music to it. I love Vuvox……… it’s very handy for school work. My class now does a lot of things on Vuvox. She also told us about Voice Thread. Voice Thread is a very well put together website. It’s also like Vuvox but instead it’s a bunch of slides one at a time.

She teaches us about all these websites and she calls them “Tech Blasts”. I love when she comes to show us something new because it’s always interesting. Once we had a conference with Greg from NASA. He told us about all the cool planets, the rover on Mars and, the newest rover that is going to be on Mars. Tech Blasts are very fun and educational.

I asked Mrs. Christensen what her favorite hobbies are and this is what she said……”My hobbies include gardening, reading and hanging out with my family. I also love my job so I find myself doing school work after my kids go to sleep. I like to try new technologies and then figure out ways to use them in the classroom.” That’s pretty cool!! I love those hobbies too.

I also asked Mrs. Christensen why she wanted to become a teacher and she said…… “I love kids’ sooo much.” She prefers to hang out with kids rather than adults, she likes hanging out with both adults and kids. She loves how kids are so creative and not afraid to express creativity. “Since becoming a teacher I’ve learned that I love teaching more than I ever could have imagined. There is nothing stagnant about teaching. I’m always learning!” said Mrs. Christensen.

My favorite question and answer was if she had any pets. She said that she has a really pretty black lab. Her name is Riley. They got her at a Humane Society. She knew their yard the second they got home. They said that didn’t even have to put up a fence. Riley is a very smart dog. She follows Mrs. Christensen around all the time. She loves her dog so much.

I asked Mrs. Christensen what qualities her friends like about her……… she said, “I think they like my sense of humor and the fact that they can count on me if they need anything.”
