Kawika Cornelius

by Grace Goad

My hero is Kawika Cornelius.  He came to know the Lord at 15 years old in a county jail.  He was facing 8 years in prison.  He came to know the Lord that night.  Meanwhile God was working good in the county jail.  Later that day he was transferred to juvenile prison and had a sentence of 2 years.  While he was serving his sentence, he continued to walk with Jesus and began to feel a call towards ministry.  When he got out of jail, he started to go to a ministry training called Masters Commission.  Later, he was in a life threatening car accident, he was paralyzed from the shoulder down.  Even though he is paralyzed he had a great experience with the power of Gods' great love.  In 2004 he was given a full ride scholarship to Beacon University: Institute of Ministry Training.  After College he went to preach at nursing homes, and prisons.  It was a big adventure for him.

Kawika lives in Fort Collins, Colorado.  He is very important to me because he is a gifted brother in Christ.  He is a good role model in my life.  He has changed my life tremendously!  It has been a new life to me ever since I have met him.  He is the best brother in Christ anyone could have even though I have not known him very long.  He is a great person to ask for advice on things.  He is a very bold Christian.  He serves God with all his heart and he has changed my whole perspective when I look at people.  He has changed a lot of people's lives.
