Kevin Hart

What is a hero? Many would say a hero is a strong and brave person who saves people on the daily basis. To an extent that is true but, a hero can also be someone who isn't well known but helps with their community or puts others before themselves. In this case, my hero is Kevin Hart. Although Kevin is a well known comedian, he has taken on the challenge to come down off of his throne and help people better themselves by coming together as a community to help support one another. Kevin Hart shows various traits of what being a hero means. Three traits that really stand out are his generosity, honor, and courtesy.

Kevin shows an unbelievable amount of generosity quite often. Recently, he has been traveling locally to areas, for a community 5k run, such as: Philadelphia, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Texas, New York, and other various states in the country. Kevin specifically wanted to do this 5k run because he wanted to simply motivate people to want to be better and to be better. This shows the generosity of giving back to your community. No one asked Kevin to do this, he simply woke up one day and said to himself that he wants to help others besides himself. Kevin doesn't only show generosity, he also shows honor and courage in the most deepest and pressured moment of his life.

Being born and raised in Philadelphia where his sleeping quarters was a bunk bed in the middle of the hallway of a one-bedroom apartment, which he shared with his mother and brother, he didn't really have anyone to motivate him to be or to do better. His dad, who was a drug addict, was in and out of jail and always yelling at him. One day he said "Son, why aren't you doing drugs?". From that moment, Kevin knew he had to get out of there for a better life. He replied "Because that's not who I am." That statement alone shows the courage and honor that he had for himself. The courage and honor that Kevin showed towards his dad is simply unbelievable. The fact that he he stood up to his dad is incredible, if it was anyone of us I'm sure we wouldn't have the thought of stepping up to our parents like that.

With the use of these traits, Kevin Hart is a hero in my eyes. Aside from all of the jokes that he makes, Kevin is a down to earth person and is well respected. He also is a thoughtful person as well, the fact that he decided to create an organization to help others and their accomplishments and goals is a heart warming thing. These are the reasons why Kevin Hart is my hero.
