If you have ever seen the 2013 through 2015 USA women's volleyball team, you will probably have noticed number 15, Kimberly Hill. She is the amazing outside hitter and my personal hero. I am a freshman in high school researching a person in the career I want to pursue when I grow up and Kimberly Hill is a great role model. I have to follow in her footsteps and become an Olympic volleyball player as well when I reach her age. I have been playing volleyball for three years and I love it so much that I want to make a living in it just like Kim Hill.
Kim Hill needs to stay active, healthy, dedicated and she needs to increase her skill level frequently to be a good athlete. To be on the USA woman's volleyball team it takes time and effort to keep your body in shape. You also need to have good grades in high school and college so that you can to stay on a sports team because if your grades are poor you can get kicked of the team. There are around 18,000 professional athletes in the United States. It is very competitive to be a professional athlete. Volleyball players make under $42,000 a year, which is not a lot. A person could make a living off of this although it is not much. Athletes can play professionally for as many years as they would like depending on their health or desire to play. When I stop playing professional volleyball I would like to become a coach and help others fulfill their dreams. Other pro Sport athletes also play competitively and entertain millions of people in United States.
According to Wikipedia, Kimberly Hill was born in 1989. She went to high school Portland, Oregon, and attended college at Pepperdine University in California and played volleyball there for four years, graduating in 2012 with a major in religion. She used to be a middle blocker but is now an outside hitter on the Olympic team. She and her teammates have come from different places in America making up a team of 8 to 12 players. Hill was awarded most improved indoor woman volleyball player in 2014. Kimberly Hills achievements inspires me to achieve great things in my volleyball career just like her.
I think that Hill helps society through her leadership in our country. She plays for the US and helps us compete with other countries. A lot of other volleyball players look up to her and strive to become like her. An article online says "The indoor star led the women's national team to its first world championship trophy in Milan in 2014." Kim Hill is being referred to as the indoor star. She's a leader on her team and a great teammate. "She's a very joyful person. She's always very very happy," says Jordan Larson, a teammate of hers. Kimberly is a big inspiration to me and to many others.
My goal is to make it to the USA's women's volleyball team like my role model Kim Hill, outside hitter for the team. To achieve my goal I need to get the best grades I can get in my high school and my college classes. I need to work hard when I am playing volleyball in club in when I'm playing for school because it will help me be my best when I am ready to try out for the team. College scouts start looking early for recruits and I want to be ready when they watch me play. I want to major in business because I am interested in starting my own business some day. I am hoping to be accepted into diversity of Southern California or University of California Los Angeles and play in their volleyball team. Kimberly Hill is an inspiration to me and I strive to be like her and that is why she is my personal career hero.
