This is a picture of my mom. |
My mom sees only herself as a regular human being and does not wish to be with gold or fame. To her, she would rather be with family and friends. My mom makes sure that people around her are happy, and if they aren't she does her best to make sure she turns their smiles up! First I just want to say that everyone is a hero in their own way and so I think that my mom will be a good example. So go out and find your hero - they are everywhere! And if you can't find one, look in the mirror and you will know your hero. So I think my mom deserves to be a hero, not just for me but for everyone around her.
Her name is Krista, also known as my mom. But she has a story that may not need fame to make it known to people around her. So here is the story that started it all. It was before I went to school, it was through preschool though fifth grade that she home schooled not just me but my two younger brothers. Some days I thought she handled too much since she had to help out my dad in his whitetails of a lifetime buck ranch, and yet make sure that me and my brothers got our knowledge taught and taught well. She tried to make home schooling fun for the three of us and tried to make sure that she still spent time with us. And so just knowing even though she was a teacher for me and my brothers, and also worked with my dad with the deer ranch, she still had to make sure we all had smiles on our faces. With this all going on I never really thought of her as my hero, I just thought of her as my mom who was very special to me, even though I would give her, you know, teenage girl troubles, even at my young age.
So as time went on I was getting into fourth grade and was actually enjoying home schooling. I had friends and stuff though. But my mom worried that she wasn't teaching everything right and that a public school should be where I go. My dad agreed. I was worried and my mom had worried since she was so used to seeing us during the day and teaching and having fun with her friends and family that this may change everything. I could tell she was getting excited seeing the new school which I now go to... Marathon Elementary. I guess she was really a good hero, because getting home being surrounded by hugs and more hugs I would be just fine. And than when tough times came my mom was there for me and that made me feel like she knew how I was feeling. Since she grew up on the farm with her family she had chores and had to put fun side away to make way for work. But yet I don't know how she did it, by making time with just herself and drawing and making sure she and her family were close.
So that's my mom. But one thing she is that I hope you see in her is a hero. I know she is since the days we have been together she showed it all. My mom doesn't see herself as a hero she says but wants people to know that a hero can be anything as long as it teaches others about what a hero is. Now as time goes on my mom has kept on showing how great of a mom she is and I think is a good leader to follow. Then one day I asked her, "Who did you learn from that made you a hero?" She answered her family and friends and others around her that made life worth living.
She wants to always remember the times when she showed her best with teaching and being there for the people she loved. And the definition for hero to her is "who never noticed they were the heroes but yet cherished it as they went on." That explains my mom, and I know I can always count on my mom. She will always be my hero and even though she says she may not think herself as a hero, I am glad that she isn't all about fame. I am glad that she is my mom and that she taught me until fourth grade, because that made me better as a family so she really is my hero. A hero is a hero, and that hero is my mom.

That is just a saying I came up with when making this website about my mom/Krista, I just think it is something I can remember that makes a huge impact on my hero's meaning.
