Kevin Michael McKeehan (TobyMac)

Tobias "Toby" Kevin Michael McKeehan was born on October 22, 1964, in Fairfax, Virginia. He is professionally known as TobyMac. He is a Grammy Award winning producer, artist, and songwriter. He first became noticed when he was a member of the Christian trio DC Talk. He stayed with them from 1989 until 2000. He has since then become a successful solo artist.

Since becoming a solo artist in 2001, TobyMac has released twelve albums. Through out his entire career, he has recorded 62 total songs. These include singles and various movie soundtracks. The top ten of his greatest songs are as follows: 1) Made to Love, 2)City On Our Knees, 3) The Slam, 4) Extreme Days, 5) Lose My Soul, 6) Get Back Up, 7) Burn For You, 8) Gone, 9) Irene, 10) Boomin'. Personally, I am a huge fan of his and have every CD that he has released.

He has won 5 Grammy Awards and has had over 11 million albums sold. TobyMac's single, "City On Our Knees" grabbed the #1 spot on the Hot Christian Songs chart and 55 on Music overall. Portable Sounds sold 50,645 copies in its first week, debuting at #10 on the Billboard 200, and at #1 on the SoundScan Contemporary Christian Overall chart. The album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album. The songs "Made to Love" and "I'm For You" both hit #1 and were the second and third most played songs on Christian Hit Radio stations in 2007.

Apart from being a recording Worship Musician tobyMac also is a writer. He has written two books with Michael Tait and Kevin Max; these two books mainly focus on Christian martyrs. He has also written two more books with Michael Tait. His fifth book is called "City On our Knees. He is also the President of the record label Gotee Records.

McKeehan and his wife Amanda (Mandy) were married in 1994. Amanda, who comes from Jamaica, is the daughter of Judy and Robert Levy (of Jamaica Broilers fame). "Being married to a Jamaican, and with regular visits to the island, TobyMac, is well immersed in Jamaican music, language and other aspects of local culture." Toby and Mandy live in Nashville, Tennessee. They have five children: Truett, born September 4, 1998; twins Moses and Marlee were adopted in 2002; Leo, born on November 2, 2004 and Judah, born March 24, 2006.
