I knew who Kerri Walsh was when I started playing volleyball. She plays beach volleyball and I started playing beach volleyball with one of my friends. Once I started playing I got hooked on watching her and her partner Misty May Treanor. I love beach volleyball and you get to play in your bathing suit and no shoes. How cool is that.

Kerri Walsh plays professional volleyball. She has to train every day as well as work out all the time. She graduated from Stanford University in 2001. She took first in the 2004 Olympics with Misty May. She has been awarded best offensive player, most valuable player, team of the year with Misty May, tour champion, and rookie of the year. They have won the Team of the Year award and they got a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics in Athens. In their winning streak they won 15 tournament titles and 90 consecutive matches. They won the 2008 Olympics in Beijing for beach volleyball and that was a huge success. They are hoping to win at least one more Olympic medal. The next Olympics will be held in London. They are training extra hard.

Kerri was born August 15, 1978 in San Jose, California. Her mom played volleyball and loved the sport. Right when Kerri came out her mom knew that Kerri would love the sport as well. She asked Misty May for her autograph and then it just clicked. She saw Misty play and fell in love with the sport. One day Kerri was playing beach and Misty saw her and asked her if she could join in. Kerri was so happy. The next day Misty asked Kerri if she wanted to beach with her and she said yes.

Kerri has inspired so many people to do the sport that she does. She helps and cares for everyone. I hope Kerri keeps winning and inspiring people to play. That is what she has done in my eyes. Kerri is amazing.
