Laura Backus

My hero is the best of all heroes, my mom, Laura Backus. She is great at cleaning boats, and she even made a business off of it. She also loves things like playing outside, playing games, talking to friends, and she is on Facebook a lot.  I live with her. Of course, I have known her all my life, because she's my mom. That's how I know my hero, but I guess you want to know why she's my hero.

My mom is a great hero, and here is why. First off, she inspired me to exercise, so now I know I can become healthy and lose weight if I try my best. Second, she's always nice to me, even if I just did something bad. I know she loves me and that makes her the best mom ever. Also, she helps people who really need it. Lastly, she is always trustworthy. If I tell her a secret, she always keeps it, and I know she wouldn't tell a secret of mine to anybody. These are the reasons my mom is my hero.

My mom is similar to and different from Greek heroes in some ways. She is similar to a Greek hero because she is loved and known by many people, not thousands, just probably around 100. She is different from a Greek hero because she isn't super strong because she doesn't slay tons of monsters like Heracles or sail across a giant ocean to return home like Odysseus, or retrieve a golden fleece like Jason. This is why my mom is a hero to me.
