Every hero is different in every book someone reads, making each one unique. They have different powers that make people believe and see things differently. However, just because the hero's are not the same, it does not mean that they still are not similar in their ways. Ludwig Van Beethoven was a famous German composer who went deaf in his middle ages. He was the eldest surviving child out of 3 children and started music at an early age. His father started him on instruments as early as age 4. After hearing Beethoven play, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wanted to train him, making Beethoven started to spend a lot of time away from home. A hero must possess a good hard working attitude and must be a resilient person. Being brave is not the only reason why a person is a hero. Ludwig Van Beethoven was not a hero because he was brave or courageous. He was a hero because of his hardworking attitude and resilience.

Beethoven came back from many hardships, making him a resilient composer in his time and now. It is hard enough going through hardships alone, but Beethoven did not have much of a choice. Overcoming those hardships are a lot harder than facing them. Yet somehow, Beethoven managed to do it. "He had a life full of suffering and tragedy..." (Ludwig Van Beethoven Pages). Beethoven went through many hardships and bumps in life. He went through depression for a majority of his lifetime and even almost considered taking his own life. Beethoven managed to beat the odds and overcome it. Beethoven also had to go through the death of his mother who died in the year 1787. Many people would've chosen to give up. Yet Beethoven was able to overcome everything the world threw at him. Aside from his mother dying and his depression, after going deaf, Beethoven turned to his music to ease the pain. "As the composer approached complete deafness, he withdrew more from society and threw himself deeper into his composing." (Resources in Context). Rather than sinking into a deep depression, Beethoven chose not to give up. Instead he relied on his own music to keep him sane. Beethoven could have easily given up and walked away from his music career. Him becoming deaf may have been one of the best things that happened during his music periods. Beethoven was a hero because of his resilience. He came back from many of the challenges in his life.

A hardworking attitude is what can take a person far in life. Many people tend to push their parents away because they, "do not need them". Beethoven did not have much of a choice. "Beethoven was essentially able to publish his works at approximately the rate at which he could compose them."(Biography in Context). Beethoven could have stopped with music after the loss of his mother. However, the show must go on, as many people say. He declared that he should teach the way that he wants to teach. Beethoven had his own style of music. He knew how he wanted to teach and he wanted to do it his way. People mature at different ages. As Beethoven traveled around composing and playing music, he had to mature a lot faster. "During all this time, Beethoven, like Mozart, had maintained himself without the benefit of an official position-but with far greater success insofar as he had no family to support." (Ebsco). Beethoven could have been different due to other people's reactions. He learned how to be himself without the use of an adult all the time. Beethoven was able to mature at a more younger age since his parents were not always around. Since they were hundreds of miles of way, Beethoven had to do many things without the adults. Beethoven was a hero because of his hardworking attitude. He was determined to do the thing he loved most, music.

A person does not have to be courageous or brave to qualify as a hero. Beethoven was not a hero because he brave or courageous. He was a hero because he was able to overcome great challenges. His resilience is a trait that made Beethoven the hero he is today. Even when he went deaf he still worked hard on his music. Beethoven was a hardworking man when it came to music. Beethoven went through a lot of hardships, including depression and the death of his mother. Instead of just sitting in a chair looking and acting depressed, Beethoven fought his depression and overcame it, mourned and moved on from his mothers passing, and got over his deafness. He was able to still do the thing he loved most after going deaf, playing and composing music. Beethoven is an inspiration because no matter what life threw at him, he was able to get back up and get back to work. A person doesn't need to be brave or courageous. They just need to be themselves and work hard and learn how to get through all the tough times. Just like Ludwig Van Beethoven.
