My Hero’s name is Leo Fowler. He is my grandpa. He is the brightest guy and is always there for me and my brother. Whenever I see him he puts a smile on my face just because of the guy he is. My grandpa is 88 years old now, but he has eaten so healthy and treated his body so well he is still in great shape. My grandpa does a lot of fun things with me. He still skis with me in the winter, and not many 80 year olds can do that. When my brother and I were young, my grandpa would always do fun things with us. I remember when we would go to their house we would always be happy and excited. My grandpa gave me a harmonica and we would always play together. I will remember that my whole life. My grandpa use to live in Laurel and when we left his house he would give us a bag of some snack for the drive home.

My grandpa has lived a long time and accomplished a lot of things. When he was out of high school he fought in WW2, and lost his hearing. The thing about my grandpa is that he is always working to make our world a better place and uses everything wisely. When I need help with something, I usually go to my grandpa because he is very knowledgeable as well.

My grandpa has overcome many hardships. He has had lots of friends in the past, but now most of his good friends have died. Now my brother and I try to do lots of things with him because he doesn’t have anyone else. My grandpa does have three brothers still alive, but he doesn’t get to see them a whole lot because they don’t live close. Like I said earlier, he lost his hearing, and that has been really hard for him too.

My grandpa is also a very funny person and really fun to be around. My brother and I like to joke around with my grandpa. He makes us laugh too, because he still uses words that we wouldn’t really use today.

My grandpa is one of the coolest people I have ever met, and I enjoy him a lot. I am so glad I have my grandpa there for me when I need him.
