Lane Frost was a very good man just because of the little things that he did in his life. Lane started riding calves at the age of 6 and did did it through college which got him into the professional rodeo business. He was very good at bull riding and also had good sportsmanship. Lane Frost was born in Lapoint Utah and then when he was a teenager they moved to Lane, Oklahoma. He was born while his dad was on a rodeo circuit. He would always fall asleep during the rodeos but when bull riding came he just always woke up to watch it. If they left a rodeo before the bull riding was done, Lane would always cry because he didn't get to see the bull riding. Lane started riding dairy calves at the age of six at his family's farm. He kept on doing bull riding clear through high school and college. He then got inducted into Professional Bull Riding (PBR) and did very well in that till he died.
Lane Frost was a very good bull rider who inspired a lot of people but also won a lot of rodeos and money. In 1983 Lane received full membership into the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Throughout his bull riding career he made a total of $489,736 before he died. Lane never gloated that he was the best bull rider or anything. Instead, he helped other younger bull riders to be the best that they can. He would always wait until the last kid was done in line meeting him to leave because when he was little his role model would always leave early and say he had to go. When he was little he always wanted to meet a bull rider and get their autograph but they said they had to go and he would get sad about it. He always wanted to meet the person he liked the most in the bull riding business which was Don Gay. He would always listen to Don and what he said. Lane himself didn't think he was special just by helping others but that's what really made him special. He would always say, "Sure I got time." He won many awards and a lot of money but that didn't mean anything to him when it came to helping others.
Lane was the 1987 World Champion Bull Rider before he died. He won so many things and was so popular. When he got drilled into the ground it looked like a normal accident but when got back up he fell right back on the ground. The bull broke two ribs which then led to a punctured lung. Everyone one who saw it happen was in shock and didn't believe what just happened to Lane because it wasn't like Lane to be hurt that bad. He died that same day on Sunday, July 30, 1989 after being killed by the bull "Takin' Care of Business" at the Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
