Lauren Hill helped many people including cancer researchers by being their main focal point. She has inspired many to donate and still continued to play even when she had DIPG cancer. She knew that she wouldn't have much time to live but she still wanted to pursue her dream playing for her College Basketball Team. In one of Lauren's final games, with seconds left using her left hand because her right hand was weakened, she did a layup and scored for her MJS team.

Lauren has helped donate a lot of money to a foundation to help find a cure for the kind of cancer she had. When people started to find out she was diagnosed with DIPG cancer they wanted to help raise awareness for that type of cancer. A challenge was made called #layup4lauren and it trended all over social media. #layup4lauren is where you spin 5 times then do a layup with your non-dominant hand and post it to your social media.

Lauren played Basketball while battling brain cancer . But the cancer didn't slow her down . she kept donating and getting other people to donate to raise enough to find the cure for DIPG cancer. She gave all of the money that she donated and got from other people to a foundation called "The Cure Starts Now Foundation". Lauren and the rest of the people raised a lot of money. Lauren is a hero because not only did she keep fighting through the battle of cancer but she also raised over 1,700,000 just for 1 foundation and inspired so many other people.

Why is Lauren a hero? Well a hero is a person who does does more for the people around them, and more for their community. They are also someone who inspires many to do more. In this case it was Lauren inspiring many people to donate for DIPG cancer fundraisers, because of Lauren they might be able to find a cure for this rare cancer. Lauren Hill will always be remembered for fighting till the very last day on April 10th 2015 when she passed away.
