Lebron Raymone James was born on December 30, 1984. Lebron's biological father left Lebron before he was even born. Growing up without a father, without much family, and without much quality homes, Lebron's childhood was rough. Lebron grew up in a house that was condemned due to a giant hole that was in the middle of the family room. Lebron, knowing that so many people are poor, have saved many children from crime and drugs. Lebron understands that kids in Cleveland need help, and he will always be there.
Lebron never went to college. As soon as he finished high school, he went straight to the NBA. Lebron, who finding out the struggling college of Akron, donated 41.8 million dollars in scholarship money."The scholarship will cover tuition and the university's general service fee - currently $9,500 per year. James told ESPN he plans to provide this for 1,100 kids, which would cost his foundation a total of $41.8 million at the school's current rates" Fox Lebron Foundation. 1,100 soon to be college grads will receive about 9,500 in scholarship money each. The first soon to be grads will be graduating in 2021. Akron, who recently lost their baseball team due to financial woes, thanks Lebron for giving these kids a chance.
Cleveland a struggling city of money, did not have a championship to call their own for 52 straight years. When Lebron did leave Cleveland for the Heat, the city of Cleveland lost money every game. Fan attendance went down significantly. Cleveland lost an average of 720,000 a game. Fan attendance decreased by 4,000. Bar owners say they have an increase in sales when Lebron plays for the Cavs. Everyone calls it the Lebron effect when Lebron left and returned to the Cavs. Many people call it Leconomics, because Lebron has a big effect on the economy. When Lebron did return to Cleveland, many people saw him a hero for truly understanding the word "home."
My definition of a hero is one that is hard working, one that willing to help someone that might be in need. A person that is known as a hero is brave, and someone that has some type of power or influence to do good. Lebron James fits this definition because he always gives his best in games and practices. Lebron's skill at the game helps struggling teens and kids by making him a sign that kids can grow up like him. Lebron James is a walking example for people around the world.
