Lionel Messi

Lionel is the best soccer player of 2009 and 2010. He is my hero because he never gives up and always tries his best.

Lionel was born in Rosario, Argentina on June 24th, 1987. He never went to college because he started playing soccer at a very young age. He plays on 2 soccer teams, FC Barcelona in Spain, and in Argentina. It was interesting when I read that he started suffering from a hormone deficiency that didn’t let him reproduce cells. The team he played for paid for his medicine. He didn’t let this stop him from playing soccer. Messi had 2 brothers and 1 sister and was raised by his parents.

In 2007 Messi established the Leo Messi Foundation, a charity supporting access to education and health care for vulnerable children around the world. Diego Maradona influenced Messi to play soccer and to try his best, no matter what.

I consider Messi a hero because he tries his best in everything and because he overcame the growth hormone deficiency. Messi has accomplished many things, but one of my favorites is when he won the player of the year award.

My hero, Lionel Messi, influences me to be a better person in life and no matter if I’m losing in a game I give the game my all until the game is over. He also taught me to give people what you would want to be getting.
