Lea Michele

When I thought of who I wanted to choose as my hero I was quite unsure of who to pick. I thought of all my interests in life and the people who inspire me to follow my goals. After a lot of consideration I decided to choose Lea Michele. I chose Lea Michele because she is a very inspiring musician. She starred on Broadway when she was eight and was an instant success. She is down to earth and gives to others. She is not a typical star who goes and parties and that is constantly on T.V. Lea is an example to her fans. When I first saw her on the hit show Glee I thought wow she is talented. I learned some more about her and thought her story showed her true talent. When I grow up a possible career choice I might consider is being a singer. A singer I would aspire to be like is Lea Michele.

The life of a Broadway star is overwhelming and exciting. In order to be in a Broadway show you must be an extremely talented actor, singer, and dancer. Broadway requires a lot of dedication and you must be willing to Dedicate your life to the show you are in. There is no specific education to be on Broadway but it is important to be familiar with stage directions, be able to sight read music, and have had vocal lessons. The salary of someone in a Broadway show depends on what role they play, chorus members will often get up to 1,000 dollars a week according to Broadway world.com. If you play a lead in a show you may get up to 70,000 dollars a week depending on how successful the show is. Some Broadway stars leave the stage and become successful in T.V like in the case of Lea Michele she left Broadway and now stars in a hit show. Nowadays it is easier for people to make their way to the big stage because advances on the internet are allowing producers to find “future stars.”

As a young child of eight Lea Michele landed a role in a hit Broadway show and from then on she kept on performing and has been successful since. I find Lea Michele to be an inspiring person because of her pure dedication to her love for performing. Her dedication has lead her to land other roles throughout the duration of her life. Without her hardworking nature, she would not be as successful as she is. Lea Michele did not attend college she instead performed in numerous musicals. Her first debut on the big stage was in Les Miserables in 1995 and then starred in Spring Awakening since she was fourteen. After her long run in Spring Awakening, she tried out for the T.V show Glee. She landed the role and currently plays the role of Rachel. Every week a new episode of Glee airs and Lea’s talent for singing is showcased in every song she performs in.

Most celebrities these days are constantly in tabloids that showcase their negative behavior. I chose Lea Michele as my hero because she is unlike many celebrities these days. She is hardly ever in tabloids and if she is, it’s because of her talent or charity work she has been involved in. Recently Lea Michele worked with PEETA to stop the production of fur coats. Lea has worked with PEETA for a various amount of animal right causes and has gone vegan to support the cause against the killing of animals.

In order to live a life like Lea Michele’s, I must dedicate myself to performing and work as hard as I can. During high school I must be involved in a various amount of activities such as drama, choir and to participate in the musicals and plays. When choosing what college I want to go to it would be important for me to choose a college that has sufficient performing arts opportunities. During college it would be important to join and participate in the performing arts in order to pursue a singing career. I hope that I will try to pursue a job in the performing arts. However if I do not end up pursuing a job in that field I will keep in mind the strong work ethic Lea Michele has. I hope that whatever job I have I will have a strong work ethic and great dedication to my job.
