Lights Poxleitner

by Paige from Medicine Hat

"To err is human, to forgive is interplanetary."

There are many sides to the singer and songwriter Lights Poxleitner. Through her many activities, such as playing guitar and piano, she has become extremely well known. Her personal style has been shown through her music and copied by many others.

Lights as a whole is a real down to earth and authentic person. Her motivation and determination to live out all her dreams, things such as finishing an album or ever just going on tour has given her fame. The creative side of her not only shows through her style but also is shown through her music. Some people would swear she's sent down from heaven because of her beauty and perfection in everything she does. Just like everyone else, she is unique and like no one. She loves to be dorky and nerdy. Because of her nerd-like personality a new word was created; adorkable.

Perfection. The comb-over, combat boots, flannels, baggy shirts, ratty clothing give her the hipster look. Her love for comfort plays along with her wonderful sense of style. She isn't one to wear neon colors, Lights likes to keep it simple and on the down-low. Though many people can't pull off the dark hair and make-up, she can. The bold look compliments her features and gives her a different look. I know personally her style has inspired me and I know other people are also inspired by her.

Lights not only tours but in her spare time she plays guitar and the synth. She has her own comic strip called Captain Lights. She also creates her own pop art. Lights collects swords, laser guns and majestic books. When she needs to get away and spend time away from her busy life she goes straight for World of Warcraft or Skyrim. She says playing video games allows her to be someone else and get an escape from her life.
