A hero for me has to be brave, humorous, and inspiring. My hero also has another trait that I see in him. Daredevilness he shows in his actions whenever I see him. This person, devilish and sly, is the youngest of my dad’s two brothers. Born in Laurel, he moved to Billings around his teen years and now has moved back to Laurel. His identity shows as my uncle Lorin.
His most heroic trait has to be his bravery. Currently enlisted in the National Guard, he served a tour of duty, stationed in Iraq, in the Iraqi War and fought for our freedom and the American way of life. He also might end up serving another tour of duty in 2010, overseas, location unknown.
Second, Uncle Lorin shows humor everyday, a never-ending process. He always messes around with his family and loves to tease my cousin Kristi constantly like a never-ending torture. When we have a Peterson family event at his house in Laurel, we male children and Karman have a nerf gun fight, hellish and crazy, against the male adults and grandpa gets involved with the fight, too, even though he fights with the male adults.
Third, he inspires me into attempting new things. He served a tour of duty overseas in the Iraqi War and fought for whole other countries’ freedom, never caring for his safety. He always does daredevil activities at family events, but he never puts anyone that he takes with him into dangerous situations, or himself for that matter.
Finally, he has been around when I need cheering up. My hero has to be brave, humorous, and inspiring and these are the traits of him. Also, part of the family, I can turn to him for advice in many issues that I have.
