Born as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Dwayne Michael Turner and Jacinda Carter, who was then 19 years old, Lil Wayne was forced to say goodbye to his father who abandoned him and his mother right after he was born. During that time, he and his mother were forced to survive by themselves in the criminal-infested community at Hollygrove division of New Orleans. Fortunately enough, soon afterwards, his mother met Reginald "Rabbit" McDonald, who eventually became his stepfather. Years later, his stepfather moved the family out from the poverty-stricken Hollygrove to East New Orleans. By that time, Lil Wayne had begun to develop his interest in hip hop and rap music.

Lil Wayne's education was rather unusual. Lil Wayne was a straight A student. He attended the gift program at Lafayette Elementary School. He also attended the drama club at Eleanor McMain Secondary school. He found music was the best way to express himself, and after taking the name Gangsta D he began writing rhymes. Combining a strong work ethic with aggressive self-promotion, the 11-year-old convinced the Cash Money label to take him on, even if it was just of odd jobs around the office. A year later, in-house producer Mannie Fresh partnered him with the 14-year-old B.G. and dubbed the duo the B.G.’z. "Although only B.G.’s name appeared on the cover, the 1995 album True Story has since been accepted as the B.G.’z debut album both by fans and the Cash Money label."

Lil rapped and made new albums throughout his life; he had some punishments set upon him in the last couple years. He had to go to jail for having a loaded gun on his tour bus and had to go for only 8 months because he is a celebrity. Lil Wayne also went to prison for having a weapon; but he only went for a year. People think he was a blood, which meant that he was in a gang, but we don't always know the real truth until you see it. Lil Wayne hopefully learned from his mistakes in life.

Lil Wayne has been divorced from Antonia Johnson since 2006, and he is reported to be dating Nivea, the mother of one of his children. He has 4 children. Their names are: Reginae Carter(14), Dwayne Carter III(2), Lennex Samuel Ari(1), Neal(1). He loves to be with his children, especially Reginae.

Lil Wayne did some things in life that were not really the greatest but he learned from those mistakes and hopefully won't do any of those things again. Lil Wayne received the best rapper award. His high pitched voice is well known throughout the world. He has inspired a great deal amount of people in the world. Lil Wayne is the world's greatest rapper.
